Kamada Ekadashi 2026: Date, Vrat Katha, Puja Vidhi, Benefits & Parana Time
Kamada Ekadashi, observed in the Chaitra month, is a sacred fast dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe a day-long vrat, perform puja, and listen to the katha mentioned in the Varaha Purana.

Kamada Ekadashi Vrat Katha
The story of Kamada Ekadashi is mentioned in the ancient scriptures like the Varaha Purana.
Once, in the beautiful city of Ratnapura, there lived a Gandharva named Lalit and his wife Lalita. Lalit was a talented singer in the court of King Pundarika. One day, while performing, Lalit got distracted thinking about his wife, which caused a mistake in his singing.
The king became furious and cursed Lalit to become a demon (rakshasa).
Heartbroken, Lalita sought help from sages and eventually met the wise sage Shringi Rishi. He advised her to observe the Kamada Ekadashi fast with full devotion and dedicate its merit to her husband.
Lalita performed the vrat sincerely, and as a result, Lalit was freed from the curse and regained his original form.
Moral: Devotion, faith, and fasting on Kamada Ekadashi can remove even severe sins and curses.
